Our Philosophy
We pride ourselves on professional excellence and a supportive and nurturing environment for our patients. We are committed to providing you and your family with a clear understanding of the road to recovery.
By conducting a thorough initial examination we will provide a diagnosis and outline the management of your injury.
Most importantly, we believe in a kind and supportive relationship with you throughout your injury management. We are committed to ensure the best outcome for your body now and into the future.
Spring Physio Gym is a physiotherapist-run clinic that utilises exercise to treat and manage injuries and other conditions. The focus is on the exercise program, carried out under the supervision of your physiotherapist.
At Kooyong Physiotherapy Centre, the focus is on the manual treatment (massage, mobilization and manipulation) of injuries and other conditions.
Our History
Kooyong Physiotherapy Centre was established in 1998 by Physiotherapists, Ann Ryan and Robin Halse. Ann and Robin came together professionally to start a practice to provide care imbuing professional excellence and a kind, supportive and nurturing environment for their patients.
A friendship that begun at University, Ann and Robin shared a value to provide their patients excellent physiotherapy care at the time of injury and a clear understanding of the road to recovery. They believed above all else to provide a kind and safe space for healthcare, patients and staff alike.
It was this ethos that attracted Mel Foley to join the practice in 2005 and ultimately become a director in 2008. Together Ann, Robin and Mel continued to grow the practice seeing it to more than 20 years of service at our Glenferrie Road site.
In 2011 Fiona Milne, a previous practitioner from Kooyong Physiotherapy Centre reunited in partnership with Ann Ryan, Robin Halse and Mel Foley to start a new business, Spring Physio Gym. Spring was developed to build a practice that not only provided in-rooms management of injuries but also encompassed a rehabilitation space. The directors felt strongly that treatment from initial injury right through early rehab and onto full return to sport, gym-based exercise or work and lifestyle related function was necessary for full recovery.
In 2019 Kooyong Physiotherapy Centre and Spring Physio Gym merged to become Spring Physio Group. Together they continue to grow. Both Kooyong Physiotherapy Centre and Spring Physio Gym employ clinicians that have expertise and involvement in many areas of sport and recreational activities to drive a dynamic practice that celebrates the individual’s physical requirements to return to their full function. The ethos of healthcare delivery for Spring Physio Group can be seen in our model Healthy Life Plan (pdf).
Now in 2021 we are excited to welcome Kate Dyball and Elyse Bradbury to the Directors table. Both Kate and Elyse are senior physiotherapists who have worked for the group for many years. They bring a great dynamic to management that continues striving to provide excellent care for our community. We continue to grow and adopt new ideas driven by current research and best practice in our industry.
